Hey, Ms. Thomas. I also attended COE and am amazed by the information given. I attended grant writing with Ms. Nixon and a book discussion on Classroom Management. I am now in the process of writing a grant and will be requesting Dr. Player to do a book club on Classroom Management by John Vitto. Not often do I leave a session with info. that can be taken straight to the classroom. I know this is not on topic of the current book talk, but I just needed to share with someone! diane

A Little about Our Assistant Principal. . .
Frances Thomas, Ed.S.

I am in my eighth year as the assistant principal of "The Best School in the Universe." I have worked in Darlington County for 26 years. I have been a teacher of grades one through six, Chapter I Reading, Chapter I Math, Reading Recovery, and am an adjunct professor of Mathematics through Francis Marion University. I have conducted numerous Family Math and Science Classes and staff development workshops throughout our district. I also presented at the 2nd Annual Sources of Power Math State Conference. I have taught at Brockington Elementary School in Darlington where I was recognized as the school's 1993 Teacher of the Year and received numerous awards including the individual Teacher Incentive Winner for two consecutive years and special recognition from the South Carolina State Department of Education twice.

I made history at the Florence Little Theatre by playing the role of Sadie for eight nights in the play Having Our Say, The Delaney Sisters in 2000. It was the first two-cast production in the theatre's 75-year history.
