I really enjoyed meeting up with Suzie in London a couple of weeks ago. We had lunch at the V&A museum cafe (a well kept London secret). We found ourselves chatting away like old friends within minutes of meeting despite only ever interacting virtually till now.
I wasn't really surprised. I've met people this way before and often it just feels like continuing the conversation. It's great to think it will be like this for our students too. Some of them will one day meet face to face the people they interact with in our global projects and discover that friendship forged virtually are no less real than face to face ones.
