Reinventing Project Based Learning: Your Field Guide to Real-World Projects

For those of you who have never heard of a whip activity, it is really easy. This is an activity that is totally off-topic and meant to bring about a cohesive group (when used in a face-to-face setting). I found it works well with online groups by making the group more interactive and allowing for the social nature of the group to come out.

So, for this week's whip, we want to get to know each other beyond what we have read in your profiles. So, what is your favorite type of music and who is your favorite group/artist/person?

This is a hard one. I would say I am a person who is open to listen to anything but if you would catch me actually playing something on purpose it would be either Gospel or R&B with a great message. I am a person who is either wanting a song with a great message or an instrumental with a soothing sound. I recently have feel in love with the song on the new apple commercial for the airbook. I have a co-worker that has it as a ring tone that bluetoothed (never thought that would be a word) it to me. I am now playing it everyone 5 minutes. If I do listen to country it has been anyone from Garth Brooks to Big and Rich to Faith Hill and Gretchen. I also like Jazz (Kenny G is my favorite) and Blues (no one does it better than B.B. King). I need to see and hear Opera (comedies) and I like some rock and roll.

Wow. That sounds like a great combination of music. Thanks for sharing.

I too find it difficult to tie myself to one type of music. It mainly depends on my day and the events that occurred. With spring right around the corner, I am stuck on "beach" music. Somehow it just makes me happy and I look forward to the taste of the salty air of Myrtle Beach!

This is so funny. I read all of the responses and it must be an age thing because I love Disco music and music from the 70s. My favorite is Kool and the Gang's Celebration. It is so upbeat. My ipod is full of Bee Gees, Elton John, Billy Joel, Earth, Wind and Fire and Carole King.

I think it is a combination of age and exposure. I was born in 1976 but my environment made me closer to being born in 1960. I like all the people you mentioned as well.

There is no such thing as an "age thing". We are all as young as we want to be. :-)
